Client: About You Magazine

I took Public Relations Writing with Dr. Meta G. Carstarphen, Ph.D., APR during the fall of 2018. Over the course of the semester I created different PR writing tools and elements for my client About You Magazine. For my final project I created a Facebook page and Twitter page and executed a week long social media campaign. My strategy for this project was to increase awareness for my client as well as rebranding AY Magazine to appeal to a younger audience. Below are 10 of my favorite and most notable pieces from the semester.

LOGO

I created a logo for my client. I used a bright yellow color to make the logo more inviting. I used this logo throughout this project.

KEY MESSAGE

For my client's key message I wanted to highlight everything my client does so there is no confusion. I wanted to also include how long my client has been in business because I think that is very important.

I created a fact sheet consisting of 10 facts for my client. I wanted to highlight the strengths of AY Magazine compared its competitors.

I created an infographic for Runway for the Cure which is sponsored and founded by my client AY Magazine. This annual event celebrates survivors of breast cancer with a fashion show and luncheon.

CLIENT LAUNCH

Facebook and Twitter

Over seven days I executed a social media campaign for my client using Facebook and Twitter. My plan for this launch was to create awareness for AY Magazine. I shared background information about my client and what exactly they do. I wanted to also share elements I created throughout the semester like the fact sheet, infographics, FAQ sheet and more. Overall, I got a lot of engagement on my Twitter page which I am thrilled about. By the end of my launch I was able to reach over 300 people on Twitter.

I created a new Twitter page for my client, AY Magazine. Twitter is the perfect platform to gain more engagements and overall awareness for AY.

PR WRITING: Projects

Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with how well my Twitter page did, I was not expecting to reach over 300 different people. However, I am not pleased with my Facebook page, the most I was able to reach was two. But I started both of these platforms from scratch, so I am not entirely disappointed with my work. This launch was extremely eye opening in the world of analytics. There are so many different ways to boost your posts to have a bigger reach. If I could do this launch all over again, I would definitely implement the use of more hashtags. Using hashtags allows you reach more people.
