This week we learned about different printing methods and finishing and binding. Gong into this lesson, I didn’t know much at all about printers. I knew the basics of what they do but not the methods that go into printing things out. We learned about offset printers, which is the most popular commercial printing method. It is also quick and inexpensive. I also learned about sheetfed and web presses, which are used for long runs (25,000 copies). I would like to know more about often public relations professionals are involved in the printing process. As an aspiring public relations professional I do think it is important to know about the printing methods and what a proof is, etc. because when you are representing a client you need to make sure that everything goes perfectly and that your client gets exactly what he/she envisioned.
